Hand Thrown Ceramic Mug – by Chris Hawkins Potter in our workshop in the Tamar Valley on the borders of Devon & Cornwall UK.
A lovely modern twist on the handmade mug, great for your morning coffee or tea.
This mug has been thrown on the wheel, the pulled handle is beautifully proportioned, ergonomic & very easy to hold with thumb rest. The foot is trimmed and the body is hand decorated with a yellow sponged ever a blue & grey striped background giving it a subtle combination of blue green hues. It is glazed with a transparent glaze to finish and then earthenware fired.

Height 10cm ~ 4″
Width 8.5cm ~ 3.25″ (including handle 12cm ~ 4.75″)
Holds 300ml ~ 8.5 floz
A great size for a Grande coffee from our Tassimo machine (and holds the same volume as our standard ‘supermarket mug’)
We have microwaved drinks, put through the dishwasher multiple times and not had any problems with these mugs, i even carry a pair of test mugs in a bag with our lunch to our workshop & home everyday for the past few months whilst Chris was developing shapes & colours and despite much clinking i haven’t got a single chip (unlike the cheap supermarket ones!!)
As they are decorated by hand each mug will differ slightly from the next.
