This unique framed wire art will brighten up any home and is a one of kind piece.
The piece is made using copper and other coloured wire, shaped by hand in this instance to form two little birds, sitting on a branch. Firstly, I twist wire to make a strong foundation for the outline of the birds, both of which are shaped freeform by hand without a template – this means your birds will definitely be one of a kind! I then take thinner wire of varying colours, wrapping and weaving in and around the frame in random patterns to form the ‘feathers’. A crystal bead is added for the eye. The branch is formed in a similar method, with a twisted wire outline – again freeform – and filling in with a thinner gauge of the same colour.
In this instance, the background is foam covered by jute fabric to give a rustic feel. Each element of the picture is ‘stitched’ in place with wire.
The frame is acrylic with a glass front, measuring approx 22.5cm square. The aperture is approx 19cm square.
NOTE: the photographs have been taken without the glass front, in order to avoid glare.
Whilst I don’t/can’t re-create pieces exactly (wire won’t bend the same way twice anyway!) I will consider consider commissions for a similar piece to suit colour preferences – please send a message to enquire.

Handcrafted wire birds, sitting on a wire branch. Copper coloured wire is firstly twisted and then shaped by hand into the bird shapes. Each bird is filled with thinner coloured wire to create their ‘feathers’ and a glass crystal bead added for their eye.
Brown coloured wire, also twisted is shaped into a branch shape, then filled with slightly thinner brown coloured wire.
Each element is then wire ‘stitched’ into place on a background of jute fabric, before being mounted in a grey box frame. The frame is acrylic with a glass front.
Because each element is formed individually by hand, you can be sure of having a completely unique piece!

Ensure the item is returned to Dangles in it’s original, unused condition - I recommend using the same packaging it arrived in and the same method of postage.
