Bright Blue Layered Patchwork Bag

Beautiful handmade layered patchwork bag, constructed using the traditional “Cathedral Windows” method. Entirely handmade and unique!

I constructed the front panel of this amazing bag using one of my favourite patchwork techniques – “Cathedral Windows”! This technique is so called because it resembles the framed stained glass windows found in Cathedrals and Churches. The method involves a lot of cutting and piecing, with multiple fabric layers being sewn together to “frame” a central, contrasting printed fabric which forms the “window”.

I made eight different “Cathedral Window” units for this bag, before sewing them all together to make the front panel. I backed the front panel with a layer of soft wadding to give the bag extra structure. For the back panel, I took another piece of the main bright blue fabric and again backed it with wadding before quilting it with straight lines to add lovely texture.

I made the base and handles from mid blue linen. I again added wadding to the base sections and quilted them. I also made “box” corners so that the bag will stand up on its’ own.

Finally, I made an interfaced lining with matching blue print cotton fabric and added a zipped pocket to it to help keep your valuables safe. I also added my brand label to the lining.

This lovely bag is one of a kind!

Measures 18″ (46cm) W x 13″ (33cm) H x 4″ (10cm) D.
The handles when in use add a further 10.5″ (26cm) to the height.

All orders are sent using tracked services.
Orders are sent by either DPD or Royal Mail Special Delivery. Deliveries are normally within 1-2 days after handing them to the delivery company.
I do not currently offer shipping to Northern Ireland or any destinations outside of the UK.

Refund Policy

If on receipt of your order you have changed your mind about purchasing it or there are any other issues, please email me at fsbm@mail.com within 14 days of delivery and if necessary I will confirm the return address. You are entitled to a full refund if items are returned to me undamaged and in the original packaging within 30 days of delivery. You are responsible for the cost of return postage unless an item was damaged when you received it - in which case, please send me photographs of the item and its exterior and interior packaging as I will need all of these to make a claim with the delivery company.
If you are returning a shipment from a country outside of the UK, please clearly mark your parcel "Returned Goods" to avoid a customs charge, which will be deducted from any refund that is due to you.
