The Animal Adventure Cot is a handcrafted toy of exceptional quality, made from reclaimed hardwood furniture using traditional carpentry methods and sewn with skill, it is a toy that is built to last.
The wooden rockers and canopy allude to vintage cots of old, but the addition of beautiful contemporary fabrics give a modern look. The cots are lavishly furnished with an old-school hand-tufted mattress, flat sheet, duvet, duvet cover, pillow, pillowcase, lined cot skirt, triple-layered tasseled chiffon canopy and canopy bow.
The fabric used in the Animal Adventure theme features a bear, an eagle, a chilled-out wolf, a dancing horse and an open teepee. The cot skirt has a rich red skirt band and lace cotton trim adds a delicate detail to the pillowcase, duvet cover and cot skirt The gold chiffon canopy and bright tassel trim compliments the red skirt band and the matching canopy bow completes the look. If your child favours toys that aren’t so cutesy and you try to steer clear of the tidal wave of pink or blue colour themes the Animal Adventure cot is a great choice for a girl or boy!
Each cot comes with it’s own uniquely numbered Certificate of Ownership detailing when the cot was made, the former life of the reclaimed wood (table, tv stand – it really could be anything), the chosen fabric theme and, most importantly, gives space to add who has owned it – from the first proud owner, to the next and the next…

The Animal Adventure Cot is a timeless toy, a perfect addition to any child’s bedroom or playroom. At approximately 80cm tall x 52cm length x 40cm width it is a dolly’s dream bed! The cot is also available in a range of other fabrics, all of which can be found in my British Craft House store.
All fabrics and trims are new and sourced from UK companies. The fabrics are selected for their enduring appeal, rather than today’s passing fad. All elements are completely handmade and are all removable, allowing for versatility in look and play.
Ambel Rocking Dolls Cots are made using reclaimed hardwoods sourced from old outdated furniture and offcuts from larger projects. Giving a new life to wood that otherwise might be destined for burning or landfill. The reclaimed wood is planed back to reveal its natural beauty and then lovingly handcrafted using traditional mortise and tenon and dowelled joints. The cot is hand-finished in two coats of child-friendly oil-wax that accentuates the natural beauty of the wood, creating a unique and individual cot.
Producing the cots entirely by hand is time intensive (approximately 3 days per cot!), but the result is a unique and timeless toy, lovingly made with the highest quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
A toy created for longevity creates its own history. It is important that future generations know the origins of the cot and who has owned it before. With this in mind, each cot comes with its own Certificate of Ownership. The Certificate details when the cot was made, the former life of the reclaimed wood (table, tv stand, worktop – it really could be anything!), the chosen fabric theme and, most importantly, who has owned it – from the first owner, to the next and the next…
The cot comes with full instructions. You will need a cross-head screwdriver to attach the canopy support, screws are supplied (takes less than a minute!). Cots are currently available in Beech and Oak although this may vary depending on the wood we are able to source and select. There are six different fabric themes to choose from. Delivery is included in the price.
Now for the legal bit…
- Cots are suitable for 3+ years.
- As with all toys sold in the UK the cots are tested and UKCA marked (sadly this does mean that I am unable to sell to Northern Ireland or outside mainland UK).
- The fabric elements of the cot are either sponge clean or handwash only (care instructions are provided with the cot).
- The cot contains a magnet.
- Due to the handmade nature of the cot, all dimensions are approximate.
- Sorry, any toys or dolls included in the pictures are not included!
I am offering the first 10 cots sold for the introductory price of £549. The price thereafter is £649.
For your complete piece of mind, if – in the very unlikely event – you are not delighted with your cot you can return it within 14 days unused and in its original packaging for a full refund.

As my Rocking Dolls Cots are UKCA marked, I cannot currently sell my doll's cots outside mainland UK (UKCA does not cover Northern Ireland).

Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt. Please contact me first if you would like to return an item.
Please note buyers are responsible for cost of return shipping unless the item is faulty.
Items must be return shipped unused and in the original packaging. Items must be sent in the same manner as was sent ie Tracked, Signed For etc
