This acrylic painting of the Capercaillie bird is ready to hang.  I’ve applied thick layers of paint to create a tactile texture to the feathers and also the grasses in the foreground.  This impasto technique emphasises the woven patterns of the feathers.  The bird’s iridescent feathers catch the light, revealing shades of deep brown, black and hints of green.  Some key features of this painting include:

This small artwork celebrates the grandeur of the great bird, a magnificent woodland grouse native to Scotland.  I’ve called this painting, ‘Horse Of The Woodland.’

I use Royal Mail Tracked 24 services for all artwork.

Framed or canvas paintings will be covered with glassine paper before being carefully encased in bubble wrap (or equivalent). I re-use packaging where possible. The artwork will then be secured in a heavy duty mailing box.

Unframed mounted artwork on paper will be packaged in a protective sleeve and then placed in a reinforced, hard-backed envelope (or equivalent).
