Geometric square wooden brooch
£24.00
This geometric square wooden brooch is made from upcycled wood which I have hand painted in gold and black. The focal point of the brooch is the intricately patterned cream and red circle in the centre, which is actually a very unusual vintage games counter!
The wooden brooch measures 3.5 x 3.5 cm, and is 0.8 cm deep. For this reason it would be better suited for pinning onto thicker fabrics such as chunky autumn knits.
I have left it unvarnished to emphasize the texture of the paint brushstrokes and wood. For this reason please avoid contact with liquids/perfumes/sprays.
The brooch comes in an eco friendly jewellery box made from upcycled card, so is ready to be given to someone special….or kept as a treat for yourself!

These counters were made in canes with intricate patterns then sliced into shape. This technique of creating patterned pieces is popular these days with jewellery makers who work with polymer clay, but this is a much older example of the craft!
