Mermaid wire sculpture.
‘April’ is a mermaid and is made entirely from silver coloured wire with copper coloured wire for her flowing hair. In this case, she is relaxing on her front with her tail fins in the air – perfect for a ‘Fins up Friday’ feeling! The sculpture starts life as a stick figure, and then is built up over several hours by adding wire to make the shape of the body and tail.
The sculpture is approx 12cm high by 10cm at her widest point and about 26cm total in length.
For indoor display only, the wire will tarnish and change colour over time, particularly on exposure to sunlight or if displayed in a damp area. To preserve the colour for longer, don’t display in direct sunlight.
Every care has been taken to tuck in the exposed wire ends, however there may still be some sharp ends so care should be taken on handling.
This item is not a toy, is not poseable and is for decorative purposes only.

’April’ mermaid wire sculpture is made entirely by hand using silver coloured wire with copper coloured wire for her flowing hair.
The sculpture is approx 12cm high by 10cm at her widest point and about 26cm total in length.
The piece starts off as a stick figure wire frame and then over several hours, wire in differing thicknesses is wrapped round to build up her features and shape into the mermaid form. Copper coloured wire is added strand by strand for her hair, some curled at the front and the rest left long and twisted together to form a flowing ponytail.
I take time to go over the piece to tuck the ends of the wire strands into the piece, however there may still be some ends that could cause a scratch to a surface or skin.
This sculpture is for indoor display only. It is not a toy, it is not poseable and is for decorative purposes only. The wire will tarnish over time, particularly when exposed to sunlight or damp conditions. For cleaning, I recommend a feather duster or a short blast from your hairdryer to remove any dust. Don’t add any polish or rub the sculpture as this will affect the colour of the wire and may damage the piece.
