Handcrafted Fine Silver and Sea Glass Oak Leaf Necklace
£85.00
A unique, handcrafted fine silver oak leaf pendant hangs from a sterling silver chain together with a small piece of honey-amber coloured sea glass to represent an acorn. The original oak leaf, from a woods near where I live, was layer-painted with silver clay paste, and hand finished once fired. The silver was oxidised using Liver of Sulpher to highlight the detail of the leaf veins. The sea glass was collected by me on one of my trips to Seaham beach when visiting family in Durham, and has been wrapped in fine silver wire. Together these have created a necklace as original as each individual leaf and piece of sea glass.
Details: Fine silver Oak leaf measures 3.5cm long and 2.1cm wide at its widest point. Approx. 1mm thickness; Sea glass measures approx. 1cm x 0.6cm;
Sterling silver chain is 45cm in length, including traditional bolt ring clasp.
A great gift for Christmas or for a special birthday for a nature lover.
The necklace will arrive wrapped in pale green tissue paper fastened with linen thread, and in a kraft pillow-box. A little handwritten note explaining a bit about the piece is also included. Additional gift wrap options are available, see below.
The package will be shipped in 1-3 days and sent by Royal Mail Tracked 24 which is included.

A beautiful necklace featuring a solid, light as a feather, fine silver oak leaf paired with a small piece of honey-amber coloured sea glass which is lightly wrapped in fine silver wire, hung from a sterling silver chain.
The original oak leaf came from the woods near me in Twyford near Winchester and was layer painted with silver-clay paste, which once dry was fired (along with the leaf) to leave behind a wonderfully light weight and fine silver replica of the original leaf.
Symbolic of the Autumn colour of the oak leaf and of the Acorn, the honey amber coloured sea-glass is a lovely accompaniment. This piece of sea-glass was found on one of my trips to Seaham in County Durham. It is wrapped in fine silver wire.

COMMISSIONS: You may also like to know that I love taking special requests and commissions – perhaps to celebrate a special birthday or event, or maybe just to turn a favourite ‘something’ you have collected into a piece of jewellery you can wear. So if you’d like to talk about creating something truly unique and bespoke for you or someone in your life please do get in touch, I’d love to help. Previous commissions have included turning a customer’s own sea-glass into a necklace, handcrafting a Bramble flower for a 21st birthday, recreating a dangly Catkin for a favourite sister or some coffee bean earrings for a Barista. It’s also worth knowing that commissions don’t necessarily cost more than items in the shop – it depends what you have in mind – so it’s always worth a no-strings chat.

All of my pieces are handmade with a lot of love and I take great pride in everything I make, and in seeing a smile on your face! I am a strong believer in hand-made meaning quality and also that because each piece is individually made by hand there sometimes may be irregularities on the surface reflecting the organic nature of the materials I work with , which creates truly one of a kind pieces.
I also know that occasionally things might go awry, and if you find that you have a problem with your item please contact me straight away so we can discuss how best to resolve the situation.
