Exciting news from Buck Beck Bees in spring 2022.
Green shoots are appearing and there is definitely more kindness in the air. Not warm yet but clear and fresh and I’m longing to throw open the windows in our home to invite Spring inside. I enjoy curating our home decor to reflect the changing seasons. The hygge feeling needs replacing now with a more definite vibe to set off the daffodils and Spring flowers we all love to bring inside at this time of year.
Everything you could ever want to know about me and my business, except for my favourite food (pumpkin soup), most-listened-to band (Florence & The Machine), and personal hero (Terry Pratchett).
So, I should start by
being straight with you … I am a stationery addict! There! It’s out there! Now
you know my biggest vice!!
I’m also a writer and
a keeper of journals.
I am a lover of words
… their meanings, their origins, and their use. My home has always been full of
notebooks, there are piles of the things on every available space on the shelves,
in the cupboards, in the drawers.

workshop with local artist.

who has always found her voice in the written word, rather than the spoken one.
Hence the aforementioned mountains of stationery!
Here was a way for me
to create the very journals that I love to fill with words.
Here was a way for me
to create something special and beautiful with my own two hands.
It’s of no surprise to many of you that know where I’m located on the Lizard Peninsula, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, that I’m influenced in my work by the big colours of sea and sky. Let me tell you more.

A brief introduction to the maker behind the brand, and a bit about my business Handmade Retro Jewellery!
For A/W20 I have created a collection of decorated berets that combines my interests in fabric and design, regional textile history as well as the repurposing of fabrics. So for this blog post, I thought I would write a little about the design concept behind my new winter collection of wool felt berets that I finished with Lochcarron Scotland tartan handmade flowers and petersham bows.
