SHIPPING UPDATE - 29 May 2020 re. Coronavirus and how it might affect your purchase

At the moment, and so long as permitted by the Government and the Royal Mail, my shop remains open for business. Please bear in mind, however, that although Royal Mail are doing an amazing job, there may still be postal delays. My postal runs will be limited to twice per week.

I have a supply of Large Letter 1st Class stamps and, at the time of writing, have no need to go in to a Post Office - all my pieces fit into post-it style cardboard boxes which fit through standard letterboxes and, similarly, can be posted in a normal post-box. 

If you are buying a gift and would like your purchase sent directly to the recipient, please remember to add this information to your order - I am very happy to offer this service, along with a free of charge message card.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: Shipping will re-commence to some countries from 1st June 2020. All purchases will be sent using the International Tracked-only Service (approx £10.00/US$13.00). At the moment, I understand from colleagues that international mail is taking anywhere between 2 - 4 weeks to arrive, with some delays at airport hubs. Buyers are responsible for any customs and/or import duties that may apply. Sorry, but I am not responsible for delays due to customs.

The majority of items listed in my store are in stock and ready for immediate despatch.  I have a local post office open Monday-Saturday (am) and aim to despatch all purchases with 1-3 working days.  Most items are sent First Class (large letter) within the UK - occasionally, I use Second Class for larger parcels. I am currently offering free postage on all items within the UK.

International orders: see update above.

Please note: I do not gift-wrap items as such, but please be assured that your purchase will be securely parcelled in protective (re-used) bubble wrap, and then wrapped again in pretty tissue paper before being despatched in a cardboard post-it box which fits through most letterboxes. Occasionally, I use recycled packaging, e.g. a padded envelope, especially if it is more suitable for the item concerned. Gift boxes/earring boxes are not provided at the moment (this is something I am looking into!), unless stated in the item description.

The following items cannot be refunded unless they arrived damaged or defective:

  • Earrings (due to hygiene reasons)

I endeavour to give as accurate descriptions of my items as possible, including size and colours.  Most items are photographed in natural daylight and on a neutral background and, so far as possible, reflect the true colour(s) of the materials used. Please bear in mind that colours can vary on different screens and devices. Many photographs are taken on the macro setting to give as much detail as possible.  Again, I always try to give accurate measurements - any questions, please do ask!

I really want you to be happy with your purchase from Sally Thake Jewellery and make every effort to ensure items leave my workspace in perfect condition.

If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you may return it for a full refund of the item price, minus postage and packaging costs, with 14 days of receipt.  A refund will be issued once I have received the item. Please ensure you obtain proof of postage.

Please contact me immediately if your item has been damaged during shipping - it does happen occasionally, despite plenty of protective packaging.

In line with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the following explains how I use information about you when you make a purchase from me.

When you make a purchase from Sally Thake Jewellery, I need the following information for you - your name, your address and sometimes your email address and/or telephone number, in order to fulfil your order.  Your details will only be used to process and deliver your order, or deal with any queries you have related to that order.

I never receive any of your financial information you pay via Paypal or credit card - this information is kept securely by the processing companies.

You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (e.g. for a custom order), if you contact me directly.

I do not keep a mailing list, nor send out newsletters, so any email address you will never be added to any list(s).  In addition, I do not pass your information on to any third party.

I do not store your data outside of The British Craft House, Facebook etc. and any data they hold will be subject to their privacy policies.

Once your payment has been received and your order fulfilled, I no longer require your information. You are entitled at any point to enquire what information I currently hold about you.  All enquiries will be dealt with promptly - this is free of charge.
