Hi, I’m Karen and welcome to my shop Karen By Design!
I make an assortment of fused glass from my workshop based in a small village on the North Devon/Cornwall border, about 5 minutes from the sea, which often influences my designs and colours that I use.
I learnt to fuse glass when I attended adult education lessons held by Cornwall Council at a local centre about 6 years ago and have achieved both levels 1 and 2 in NCFE certificate in Creative Craft (specialising in fused glass). When I’m not glass fusing, or looking after my 3 boys, then I like to try my hand at other crafts including sewing and card making.
I really enjoy working with recycled glass, especially wine/drink bottles and make an assortment of items from these such as bowls, spoon rests, clocks. I also make bowls and plates and sun catchers from high quality, artist glass (Bullseye glass).
