Description
An 8cm square dish which I fused in my kiln. Twice, once to fuse all the glass together into a flat square and then again, to slump it into the shallow dish shape.
I made this with a 2 layers of golden yellow glass and then decorated it with bright coloured frit in the centre and lots of gorgeous dichroic glass round the edges and right round the border.
A very pretty little ornamental dish., beautifully bright and shiny.
Dichroic (pronounced “dye-crow-ick”) glass, literally means “two colored.” It is derived from the Greek words “di” for two, and “chroma” for color. It was thus named because of its fantastic multicolour reflective properties. It appears to have more than one color at the same time, especially when viewed with different lighting.
A lovely dish for your trinkets, sweets or just to enjoy as an ornament.
I find my fused glass pieces very tactile and this dish is lovely to just hold and I rather like to think it might be picked up just to admire the shimmer and the colours.
