These earrings are each made from a hand-shaped Argentium sterling silver wire hoop, and include graduated sizes of sterling silver beads either side of an 8mm ‘Mermaid Glass’ bead.
Argentium silver is a newer variety of sterling silver and is stronger, more tarnish resistant and also hypoallergenic – this makes it perfect for those who may have a sensitivity to traditional 925 sterling silver.
The earrings measure just over 6cm in length and approximately 2.5cm across at the widest part. They simply slip directly through the ear piercing hole and hang beautifully and comfortably. They are very well balanced while worn, and look modern and chic!
The glass beads are a lovely opaque white colour, with a matte, frosted texture and a gorgeous iridescent flash of rainbow colour that gives them the illusion of ‘glowing’ as the light catches them.
About The Packaging & Shipping
ll jewellery will be carefully gift wrapped and presented in either a hessian fabric bag or cardboard gift box, and sent in mailing boxes, mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate.
Shipping within the UK is already included via Royal Mail’s ‘Tracked 24’ service, with an optional upgrade to Special Delivery available for an additional charge at checkout if required.
If an item is not packaged in a gift box as standard, then the option to upgrade to one will be made available within an individual listing – an additional charge will be applied to cover any increased postage costs. You can see a picture of my packaging below.
I always aim to despatch all orders on the same or next working day that they are received, so any upgrades in postage chosen by a customer will be for the purposes of achieving higher priority and more accurate tracking within the Royal Mail system itself, rather than a faster processing time from me as a seller.
Please be aware that I am unable to guarantee specific delivery times of orders once posted.
If your purchase is a gift and you wish to include a handwritten message on a tag then I am more than happy to provide this service free of charge, regardless of packaging choice. Please include any details in the drop-down menu option. In addition, if you wish the item to be sent direct to the recipient then please make sure the mailing address is correct during the checkout process.
If there is anything else at all that you would like to know about a particular item then please don’t hesitate to send me a message and I’ll do my best to help!
Thanks for looking!

About The Sea Glass
Sea glass is broadly defined as glass which has been discarded into the oceans or on beaches, thereafter spending many decades being gently tumbled by the waves. This gives it the characteristic smooth edges and beautiful frosted appearance which defines it. Every piece of sea glass I use is authentic, genuine sea glass – the majority of which has been personally collected by me from the pebbly beaches along The Solent in Hampshire, where I live.
The quality and colour of each piece determines its rarity and subsequent value, and this will be described in the sale listing and if relevant reflected in the price. I will always try to show the colour as accurately as possible in images.
Each item of sea glass jewellery I make is totally unique and ‘one of a kind’ and will only ever be listed for sale once – the pictures you see here in the shop listing will be of the exact item that will be received by the customer.
All glass is carefully washed and checked for any sharp or rough edges prior to being used.
About The Jewellery & The Materials I Use
I mainly work with fine silver, 925 sterling silver and 935 argentium sterling silver. The latter is a fairly new alloy which is stronger, brighter, and whiter than traditional sterling and is highly tarnish resistant.
Argentium is also hypoallergenic, making it great for those who have an allergy to traditional sterling silver. I also use copper and brass in my work and often combine it with silver to create more striking mixed-metal designs.
PLEASE NOTE: In accordance with British law, all silver items over 7.78 grams will be hallmarked by The London Assay Office, complete with my maker’s mark ‘KAT’. The exact Hallmarking stamp for metal type will be governed by the lowest classification grade of silver in a piece, which in the majority of cases for my work will be 925 sterling silver. Items under 7.78 grams in weight are not required to be hallmarked by law, but any description will always accurately state the exact composition of metals used. For more information please see the London Assay Office Dealer’s Notice HERE.
Every item I make is handcrafted by me to my own designs. Due to the nature of the materials and techniques used, most pieces are unique and ‘one of a kind’, especially when featuring sea glass or other natural materials.
Honesty and accuracy is important to me and most things will be listed and photographed individually – the pictures you see will be of the exact item that will be received by a customer. If I do create a design that can be accurately reproduced then I may make more than one at a time.
This means the same images may be used on repeat listings, where due to the nature of handmade jewellery manufacturing methods there may be some very slight differences or variations between the item shown in photographs and the actual one received. I will only do so if these variations are absolutely minimal, and in all cases you are always welcome to request more information or images for any item I have for sale before making a purchase.
All the jewellery I sell is handmade and as such requires special treatment to ensure its longevity.
Please take care to protect it from contact with such things as perfumes, hair sprays, moisturisers and cleaning fluids etc which may contain ingredients that can tarnish or otherwise affect the materials from which it is made. Bleach products in particular can very quickly tarnish silver metals.
Sea glass is somewhat toughened by the tumbling process it has undergone, but ultimately it is still glass and needs to be treated appropriately. In the event that it should become marked or scratched on the surface, a gentle cleaning with a soft brush (such as a toothbrush) and some soapy water should help fix this.
