This adjustable ring started out as a sheet of silver, bezel wire and freeform Sodalite gem. The metal has been cut with a jewellers saw, shaped, filed and sanded to remove most blemishes- I like to leave a story on my pieces that tells you the item has been made by hand. I have then handcrafted a fine silver bezel setting and set the ring with a pretty royal blue free form Sodalite gemstone. Finally, this ring has been polished by hand and given a thin coat of renaissance wax polish. Renaissance wax protects the silver and helps prevent/delay tarnishing.

Keeping Your Jewellery In Tip Top Condition

Sterling silver exposed to air, lotions, soaps and everyday dust and dirt will tarnish over time. Sterling silver is an alloy metal with 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. The copper content in silver makes the silver a harder metal than fine silver and so is easier to turn into everyday hard-wearing objects such as cutlery, medical equipment and jewellery. The copper in silver reacts to moisture and sulphur in the air which causes the silver to discolour and lose its shine.

It is easy to keep your silver jewellery in excellent sparkling condition.

  • Clean your silver regularly with a silver polishing cloth to remove any tarnish. Do be careful not to over polish your silver items and do not be too heavy handed with your jewellery.
  • Silver jewellery is best kept in an airtight box and/or jewellery pouch when not worn. This will prevent your jewellery from being exposed to the air for prolonged periods and the risk of tarnishing. It will also help prevent scratch marks appearing.
  • Try and limit your jewellery from exposure to chemical substances such as lotions and perfumes.
  • Swimming or bathing in the sea or swimming pool whilst wearing your silver jewellery is not recommended. Sterling silver can change colour when exposed to salt water and chlorinated pools, and the salt water and chlorine will damage Sterling silver far more than any other metal!
  • Anti -Tarnish paper tabs or strips are perfect to put with your silver when storing your jewellery away. Silica gel sachets can be put with your jewellery too. Both are great at absorbing any moisture in the air. Both Anti- Tarnish papers and Silica Gel strips can be widely purchased online.

Gemstone care– Always avoid temperature extremes. Wipe clean gently with a soft, damp, lint free cloth and dry.

No plastic packaging! Your order will be sent in an eco-friendly presentation box and in eco-friendly, recyclable, biodegradable packaging and the out mailing will either be a bag which is reusable and fully compostable, or your order will be packed inside a cardboard box.

The Important Stuff

All jewellery is sent out via Royal Mail signed for 1st Class, or Special Delivery for orders over £50 in value. Both methods of shipping will require a signature upon delivery. The Royal Mail Courier should sign on your behalf during the COVID 19 pandemic.

For international orders, if Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed is available for your country of origin, this service will be used.

If not, Royal Mail International Signed will be used. International Tracked and Signed offers full tracking from dispatch to delivery.

International Signed does not offer tracking outside of the UK but confirms delivery.

Once dispatched, I will send you your parcel tracking number. You will be able to then track your order via the service provider.

When will my order arrive?

UK Standard Free Delivery: 1st Class Signed For - Royal Mail aim to deliver this service the next working day, including Saturdays, but it may take longer. Please note that during the COVID 19 pandemic it may take Royal Mail longer than the next working day to deliver.

UK orders over £50: Royal Mail Special Delivery - Royal Mail aim to deliver this service by 1pm the next working day, excluding Saturdays.

International Postal Services can sometimes experience customs delays. These delays sadly cannot be helped and neither I nor Royal Mail can alter the speed of your parcel travelling through customs. Please remember, I am not responsible for any delays to your delivery due to processing through customs.

International orders should normally be received within 7-14 working days, however, this could be longer around busier times of year e.g leading up to and around Christmas time, or where there are custom delays as previously mentioned.

Do I have to pay any customs or import taxes?

If you're purchasing from outside of the U.K potentially, yes. The Sylverling Workshop cannot be held responsible for any taxes, charges or custom duties levied or restrictions enforced by your country, in transit or on arrival of your package- this is your sole responsibility, any fees, duties etc are payable by you.

For more information, please speak directly with your local customs and tax office to get guidance from your domestic customs service as to what charges to expect.

Undeliverable Orders

Your ordered goods will be delivered to the delivery address you provided at the time of purchase.

It is your responsibility as the buyer to ensure that the delivery details you have provided are correct and accurate, and that someone is there at the address to take delivery of the goods.

Should your order be returned to me undelivered and you do not wish to have the package re-shipped, I will cancel the order. I will also cancel the order if your parcel is returned to me undelivered and you do not respond to notification of this within 3 working days.

In both these instances, a refund will be issued for the value of the items ordered only.

Damaged or Faulty Goods

The utmost care is taken with your order from start to finish and your order will be sent in a presentation box or pouch then well packed and delivered to you via Royal Mail signed for. If the packaging of your order is obviously damaged due to postal mishandling, then please, if at all possible, take photos of the damage prior to opening and then once opened take photos of any subsequent damage caused to your order. This will help me file a claim. Likewise if you believe your order to be faulty, please do get in contact with your concerns also attaching clear photos of the fault to enable me to find the best way to support you. Please contact me either via TBCH or through my email address: [email protected] within 14 days of delivery. If your item needs to be returned your postal costs will be refunded for damaged or faulty items. Please retain your original postal receipt and proof of postage. As this will be an additional amount  beyond your original order, the refund for your postage costs will be made via PayPal to your email address.

General conditions of return

  • Unless damaged or faulty, (see above) buyers are responsible for return postage costs. In all situations I always recommend using a tracked service.
  • Do take care when packaging your item to ensure the item is received unworn and in its original condition. The buyer is responsible for any loss in value. 
  • Do reuse, if possible, the original packaging.
  • Do ensure you obtain proof of postage from your Post Office.

Do enclose your original invoice or a note with your contact and order details and ensure it is returned within 30 days from the date of delivery to: The Sylverling Workshop, PO Box 10787, Leicester. Leicestershire. LE3 4HA 

All refunds will be processed after the returned goods have been received at The Sylverling Workshop. Once I have received your return I will process your refund directly via Stripe to the debit/credit card used to purchase the order.
