This necklace is made from a beautiful piece of pale seafoam-green sea glass, which has been naturally formed by the ocean into an almost perfect rectangle shape. It has been carefully set into a handcrafted fine silver and sterling silver bezel setting, with two simple silver ring loops at the top for the chain.

There are three dangling silver chain ‘tassels’ which are made from the same chain as the necklace, and which each have two beautiful, frosted pale pink Rose Quartz beads. The beads are each 4mm in size and have been deliberately selected to match the frosted finish of the sea glass.

The sea glass is in wonderful condition with a smooth and lightly frosted surface and only one very tiny natural inclusion in the top left corner, and is a truly gorgeous oceanic colour.

The sea glass measures approximately 23mm by 12mm, with the whole pendant itself measuring 7cm from the top hanging ring to the bottom of the longest chain tassel. It is also fairly slimline at just 4.5mm thick.

The majority of the pendant, including the chain, has been polished to a high shine – with the exception of the backplate of the main setting which has a soft brushed satin finish.

The pendant has been paired with a strong 2.5mm thick solid sterling silver belcher chain, which measures 45cm/18″ in length and fastens with a toggle clasp. The chain is fully removable, and the clasp can be worn at any position – either behind the neck out of sight, or at the base next to the pendant as a feature of the design.

I do keep other chains in stock and can also make up a bespoke chain to any length if you love the pendant but would prefer a different necklace with it!

About The Gemstones

Rose quartz is known as ‘the love stone’ and is associated with expressing unconditional love to both self and others. Centred around the heart chakra, Rose Quartz can be used for deep emotional healing and release, and is said also to improve circulation and lower blood pressure. It can also be used to ease palpitations or skipped beats, and to release tension.

About The Packaging & Shipping

Due to size and value, this necklace will be carefully gift wrapped and presented in a ribbon-tied cardboard gift box. All items are sent in mailing boxes, mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate. You can see a picture of my packaging below.

Shipping within the UK is already included via Royal Mail’s ‘Tracked 24’ service, with an optional upgrade to Special Delivery available for an additional charge at checkout if required.

I always aim to despatch all orders on the same or next working day that they are received, so any upgrades in postage chosen by a customer will be for the purposes of achieving higher priority and more accurate tracking within the Royal Mail system itself, rather than a faster processing time from me as a seller.

Please be aware that I am unable to guarantee specific delivery times of orders once posted.

Gift Messaging

If your purchase is a gift and you wish to include a handwritten message on a tag then I am more than happy to provide this service free of charge, regardless of packaging choice. Please include any details in the drop-down menu option. In addition, if you wish the item to be sent direct to the recipient then please make sure the mailing address is correct during the checkout process.

If there is anything else at all that you would like to know about a particular item then please don’t hesitate to send me a message and I’ll do my best to help!

Thanks for looking!

About The Sea Glass

Sea glass is broadly defined as glass which has been discarded into the oceans or on beaches, thereafter spending many decades being gently tumbled by the waves. This gives it the characteristic smooth edges and beautiful frosted appearance which defines it. Every piece of sea glass I use is authentic, genuine sea glass – the majority of which has been personally collected by me from the pebbly beaches along The Solent in Hampshire, where I live.

The quality and colour of each piece determines its rarity and subsequent value, and this will be described in the sale listing and if relevant reflected in the price. I will always try to show the colour as accurately as possible in images.

Each item of sea glass jewellery I make is totally unique and ‘one of a kind’ and will only ever be listed for sale once – the pictures you see here in the shop listing will be of the exact item that will be received by the customer.

All glass is carefully washed and checked for any sharp or rough edges prior to being used.

About The Jewellery & The Materials I Use

I mainly work with fine silver, 925 sterling silver and 935 argentium sterling silver. The latter is a fairly new alloy which is stronger, brighter, and whiter than traditional sterling and is highly tarnish resistant.

Argentium is also hypoallergenic, making it great for those who have an allergy to traditional sterling silver. I also use copper and brass in my work and often combine it with silver to create more striking mixed-metal designs.

PLEASE NOTE: In accordance with British law, all silver items over 7.78 grams will be hallmarked by The London Assay Office, complete with my maker’s mark ‘KAT’. The exact Hallmarking stamp for metal type will be governed by the lowest classification grade of silver in a piece, which in the majority of cases for my work will be 925 sterling silver.  Items under 7.78 grams in weight are not required to be hallmarked by law, but any description will always accurately state the exact composition of metals used. For more information please see the London Assay Office Dealer’s Notice HERE.

Product Images

Every item I make is handcrafted by me to my own designs. Due to the nature of the materials and techniques used, most pieces are unique and ‘one of a kind’, especially when featuring sea glass or other natural materials.

Honesty and accuracy is important to me and most things will be listed and photographed individually – if an item is described as being ‘one of a kind’ then the pictures you see will be of the exact item that will be received by a customer.

If I do create a design that can be accurately reproduced then I may make more than one at a time. This means the same images may be used on repeat listings, where due to the nature of handmade jewellery manufacturing methods there may be some very slight differences or variations between the item shown in photographs and the actual one received.

I will only do so if these variations are absolutely minimal, and in all cases you are always welcome to request more information or images for any item I have for sale before making a purchase.

Care Recommendations

All the jewellery I sell is handmade and as such requires special treatment to ensure its longevity.

Please take care to protect it from contact with such things as perfumes, hair sprays, moisturisers and cleaning fluids etc which may contain ingredients that can tarnish or otherwise affect the materials from which it is made. Bleach products in particular can very quickly tarnish silver metals.

Sea glass is somewhat toughened by the tumbling process it has undergone, but ultimately it is still glass and needs to be treated appropriately. In the event that it should become marked or scratched on the surface, a gentle cleaning with a soft brush (such as a toothbrush) and some soapy water should help fix this.

Shipping Policy

Please see The British Craft House's shipping policy

Delivery within the UK is FREE and all items will be posted via Royal Mail's 1st Class 'Signed For' Delivery.

Items should normally be processed and despatched within 1-3 working days. If, for whatever reason, there is any likelihood that this could be extended then the customer will be contacted.

All jewellery will be carefully gift wrapped and presented in either a hessian fabric bag or cardboard gift box, depending on size, and sent in mailing boxes/mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate.  Shipping within the UK is FREE via Royal Mail First Class ‘Signed For’ delivery.

If an item is not packaged in a gift box as standard, then the option to upgrade to one will be made available within an individual listing - an additional charge will be applied to cover the increased postage costs. Regardless of packaging choice, the option to include a handwritten gift tag will be offered free of charge with all items.

Any ‘made to order’ items will have varying despatch times according to the nature of the work involved in producing them, and an estimate will be included in the product description.

Customised items and bespoke commissions will also take longer to create and timescales will be discussed and agreed upon before any work is started on a piece.

I take great care and pride in everything I create and customer satisfaction is hugely important to me. If there are any problems with an order then please don’t hesitate to contact me straight away and we can discuss how I may best help resolve the situation.

If you are not completely delighted with anything you have purchased or if you decide something isn’t quite as expected, I am more than happy to accept returns and a refund or exchange can be arranged - providing that items are returned unworn or unused, and in their original condition and packaging.

Please let me know of your intention to return an item within 14 days of receiving it. Return shipping costs cannot be refunded unless an item is faulty.

It is strongly recommended that any items being returned are sent using a tracked or 'signed for' service with proof of postage obtained, as I cannot take responsibility for any items that are subsequently lost in the post during their journey back.
