Description
These vibrant cufflinks feature oblongs cabochons of vintage fordite smoothly bezel set and finished with sterling silver swivel fittings making them easy to use. The fordite has a pattern of concentric rings (they don’t quite match but it’s pretty close) with a patch of mint green sitting in a pool of blue in the middle then rings of sparkly gold, white, greens, reds and lots of other colours. The fordite is low profile at 3mm ensuring they sit comfortably under jackets but they are quite large measuring approx 19mm by 15mm. Comes gift boxed and my fordite cufflinks have proven to be a popular wedding anniversary gift
Fordite is layers of cured car paint which builds up in the spray booths getting baked hard in between each colour. The unique colour palette in this material makes me believe that it has come from the GMC truck production line in the late 60’s or early 70’s (I spent a lot of time matching colours to the old paint charts). They make the perfect gift for a gent who loves his classic american cars. I cut most of my fordite myself and this particular material I removed from an old belt buckle before recutting and polishing it, if you love the idea of fordite but want something else drop me a message I have quite a stash of rough.
Approx 19mm by 15mm with standard swivel fittings. Come in a sleek black box.
