A Stained glass Bumble Bee suncatcher.  A Queen Bee as identified by the yellow head.

Like all my suncatchers, it is handmade with love and designed to hang in the window and catch the light.

The body is striped bright yellow and black glass and the head is a golden glass nugget.  This is a rare variety of bee, the bead-eye is not often spotted in England.  This bee has pretty millefiori beads for eyes,  A very smart bee.

The 4 wings are cut from iridescent sparkly glass and I’ve superimposed the lower set to give a slight 3-dimensional effect.

The bee is 12cm by 11cm (excluding the chain) and likes nothing better than to sit in the window with the light catching its shimmering wings and where it can look longingly at the flowers and pollen outside.

Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped then carefully wrapped in copper foil before all the pieces are soldered together to form the full bee.

The suncatcher hangs from a little chain which is securely attached to the top of the bee.
I ensure that each of my bees is unique by altering the colours of the nugget and eye beads.

I always supply a suction hook so it comes ready for you to hang. I attach the chain using split rings so you can if you prefer replace it, maybe with a ribbon, quite easily.

Posted out Royal Mail first class in a strong and innovative box with lots of padding to keep it safe on its journey to you.
