It’s a rare moment when I pick up a piece of sea glass that is big enough to make into a bride’s wedding dress and it never fails to bring a smile to my face as I slip it into my pocket, already making plans on how I will use it. This bride’s dress was one such piece – chunky, frosted and wonderfully shaped and smoothed by nature.

What is sea glass..?

Sea glass is created from broken glass that has been discarded into the sea to be tumbled in the sand and surf until all its sharp jagged edges become perfectly smooth and its appearance beautifully frosted. It’s a little bit of nature’s magic – who knows how long these pieces have been tumbling around in the ocean or what their original use was and I think this adds a little mystique to each piece I create.
