These are natural products and should be treated with respect and care. These are not toys and should be kept safely away from children and animals. Needle felting is very labour intensive but is also really therapeutic! Unlike other felters I use my own Shetland Sheeps wool as much as possible in all my creations.
Shetlands come in a variety of colours and is beautiful to work with. My Sheep are sheared in the Summer, then their fleece is washed several times to remove lanolin and dirt, carded by hand to remove all the bits of vegetation and formed into fluffy clouds of clean wool ready for needle felting. It is alot easier to buy in prepared wool and I do use a small amount of bought in dyed wool for accent colours, but I am proud that I am predominantly using my own fleece and gives real provenance to each sculpture.
All items are sent out in branded eco friendly boxes, outer packaging is usually recycled to be green. You can also add a gift message free of charge if you are wanting to send this directly to a recipient. If you have a favourite sheep or other animal you would like immortalised in wool please get in touch.
We also make copper jewellery using a process called electroforming, this is a technique which grows recycled Whisky Still copper (from a famous Highland Whisky Distillery) around an organic object such as a leaf or seed. They make unique keepsakes as the item is encased inside the piece of jewellery forever.
