Description
Materials and aftercare:
Mosaics are made are made by cutting and gluing stained
glass onto a clear acrylic base using silicone glue. The acrylic makes the
whole item much more robust. As it is a mosaic there will be some evidence of
glue on the reverse but this is minimal and almost entirely invisible from the
front. The mosaic is then grouted with exterior grade grout, and the edges are
treated as well. A metal rod is firmly
embedded into the acrylic so you can stake them in your plant pots. The metal
stalk is aluminium so is rust proof. As a result, pot plant mosaics are frost
proof and able to weather all conditions, although care might need to be taken
in extreme gusty conditions.
When staking bees into your plant pots please put pressure
on the stake rather than the mosaic so as not to weaken the join.
The glass can be cleaned if needed with a sponge ad mild
fairy liquid. A microfibre cloth can be used to polish up the glass and the
acrylic.
As with any item made with glass, and especially mosaic,
please do take care when handling. Although every care has been taken to remove
sharp points and edges, please keep them away from small children.
