Irridescent honey bee garden stake, stained glass mosaic art
An original mosaic by Baobab Tree Mosaics
Robust and weatherproof.
A buzzy bee on a stalk to bring some gorgeous sparkle to
your garden. This little bee will make a colourful addition to your plant pots
and will brighten up your outdoor space all year long. Light reflects and
shines through the glass, so that it changes throughout the day. The wings are in
clear, transparent glass, but have a beautiful pink iridescence to them so they
will always sparkle no matter what the weather. All materials used are
weatherproof, so it will be fine outside all year in the UK climate.
This would make a perfect gift for any gardener.
All mosaics are to my original design and the glass is hand
cut by me. I use a variety of stained-glass types and colours, so each piece
comes out a little bit different. As a result, you will have a totally unique
piece of art.

Materials and aftercare:
Mosaics are made are made by cutting and gluing stained
glass onto a clear acrylic base using silicone glue. The acrylic makes the
whole item much more robust. As it is a mosaic there will be some evidence of
glue on the reverse but this is minimal and almost entirely invisible from the
front. The mosaic is then grouted with exterior grade grout, and the edges are
treated as well. A metal rod is firmly
embedded into the acrylic so you can stake them in your plant pots. The metal
stalk is aluminium so is rust proof. As a result, pot plant mosaics are frost
proof and able to weather all conditions, although care might need to be taken
in extreme gusty conditions.
When staking bees into your plant pots please put pressure
on the stake rather than the mosaic so as not to weaken the join.
The glass can be cleaned if needed with a sponge ad mild
fairy liquid. A microfibre cloth can be used to polish up the glass and the
As with any item made with glass, and especially mosaic,
please do take care when handling. Although every care has been taken to remove
sharp points and edges, please keep them away from small children.

Please note that I try to be as green as possible and usually reuse boxes where possible - however during the Covid Pandemic all packaging is brand new, and where recycled cardboard has been used, it has been quarantined for 72 hours. My glass is always very securely packaged and items are well padded and taped up, to guard from unfortunate events at the posting office.
My packages will not fit through the letter box because of all the padding. If your package has not arrived a few days after posting please check to see if it has been left in a secure place somewhere or check with your postie or neighbour.
At the moment during Covid, I am posting twice a week.
Covid - please note that ALL items may take up to 2 weeks to post out at this current time, although are usually sent out much sooner. Please also be aware that Royal Mail may also be experiencing delays at this time which is out of my control.
I have attempted to set up my postal costs so they calculate an accurate total price even if you order more than one item. If I find it has overcharged you then I will refund you any postal overcharge.
