Description

Share

This bracelet is made from a piece of genuine, Scottish sea glass which has been set into a fine silver and sterling silver bezel setting, handcrafted in its entirety using wire and sheet metal.

The bracelet chain is made up of 9.5mm round sterling silver chain links. On one end it features the sea glass charm, and on the other end a lovely little sterling silver heart (this charm is 10mm across).

The sea glass is in lovely condition with a smooth, lightly frosted and tactile surface, and is a truly stunning colour. It has a lovely translucency which enables you to still see through to the silver base and creates beautiful shadows within it.

The sea glass is a rounded shape with a very slightly curved top. The bezel setting as a whole measures 24mm long, 17mm wide and is 8mm deep at the thickest point. You can find out a little more about the sea glass I use further down this page.

The bracelet measures approximately 20cm/8 inches in length and fastens with a toggle bar. This can be secured into any of the round links in the chain, making the bracelet fully adjustable to ensure the most comfortable fit.

The whole piece including the chain has been polished to a high shine.

Due to its weight this bracelet has been fully hallmarked by The London Assay Office as 925 Sterling Silver and also includes my own unique sponsor’s/makers mark ‘KAT’. This serves as a guarantee of authenticity to prove that the metal is of the quality and finesse described.

About The Packaging & Shipping

Due to weight and value, this bracelet will be carefully gift wrapped and presented in a ribbon-tied cardboard gift box. All items are sent in mailing boxes, mailing bags or padded envelopes as appropriate.

Shipping within the UK is already included via Royal Mail’s ‘Tracked 24’ service, with an optional upgrade to Special Delivery available for an additional charge at checkout if required.

I always aim to despatch all orders on the same or next working day that they are received, so any upgrades in postage chosen by a customer will be for the purposes of achieving higher priority and more accurate tracking within the Royal Mail system itself, rather than a faster processing time from me as a seller.

Please be aware that I am unable to guarantee specific delivery times of orders once posted.

Gift Messaging

If your purchase is a gift and you wish to include a handwritten message on a tag then I am more than happy to provide this service free of charge, regardless of packaging choice. Please include any details in the drop-down menu option. In addition, if you wish the item to be sent direct to the recipient then please make sure the mailing address is correct during the checkout process.

If there is anything else at all that you would like to know about a particular item then please don’t hesitate to send me a message and I’ll do my best to help!

Thanks for looking!

About The Sea Glass

Sea glass is broadly defined as glass which has been discarded into the oceans or on beaches, thereafter spending many decades being gently tumbled by the waves. This gives it the characteristic smooth edges and beautiful frosted appearance which defines it. Every piece of sea glass I use is authentic, genuine sea glass – the majority of which has been personally collected by me from the pebbly beaches along The Solent in Hampshire, where I live.

The quality and colour of each piece determines its rarity and subsequent value, and this will be described in the sale listing and if relevant reflected in the price. I will always try to show the colour as accurately as possible in images.

Each item of sea glass jewellery I make is totally unique and ‘one of a kind’ and will only ever be listed for sale once – the pictures you see here in the shop listing will be of the exact item that will be received by the customer.

All glass is carefully washed and checked for any sharp or rough edges prior to being used.

About The Jewellery & The Materials I Use

I mainly work with fine silver, 925 sterling silver and 935 argentium sterling silver. The latter is a fairly new alloy which is stronger, brighter, and whiter than traditional sterling and is highly tarnish resistant.

Argentium is also hypoallergenic, making it great for those who have an allergy to traditional sterling silver. I also use copper and brass in my work and often combine it with silver to create more striking mixed-metal designs.

PLEASE NOTE: In accordance with British law, all silver items over 7.78 grams will be hallmarked by The London Assay Office, complete with my maker’s mark ‘KAT’. The exact Hallmarking stamp for metal type will be governed by the lowest classification grade of silver in a piece, which in the majority of cases for my work will be 925 sterling silver.  Items under 7.78 grams in weight are not required to be hallmarked by law, but any description will always accurately state the exact composition of metals used. For more information please see the London Assay Office Dealer’s Notice HERE.

Product Images

Every item I make is handcrafted by me to my own designs. Due to the nature of the materials and techniques used, most pieces are unique and ‘one of a kind’, especially when featuring sea glass or other natural materials.

Honesty and accuracy is important to me and most things will be listed and photographed individually – if an item is described as being ‘one of a kind’ then the pictures you see will be of the exact item that will be received by a customer.

If I do create a design that can be accurately reproduced then I may make more than one at a time. This means the same images may be used on repeat listings, where due to the nature of handmade jewellery manufacturing methods there may be some very slight differences or variations between the item shown in photographs and the actual one received.

I will only do so if these variations are absolutely minimal, and in all cases you are always welcome to request more information or images for any item I have for sale before making a purchase.

Care Recommendations

All the jewellery I sell is handmade and as such requires special treatment to ensure its longevity.

Please take care to protect it from contact with such things as perfumes, hair sprays, moisturisers and cleaning fluids etc which may contain ingredients that can tarnish or otherwise affect the materials from which it is made. Bleach products in particular can very quickly tarnish silver metals.

Sea glass is somewhat toughened by the tumbling process it has undergone, but ultimately it is still glass and needs to be treated appropriately. In the event that it should become marked or scratched on the surface, a gentle cleaning with a soft brush (such as a toothbrush) and some soapy water should help fix this.
