Description
These anodised aluminium earrings are colourful, lightweight and easy to wear. They are dyed a gorgeous satin gold colour and have graphic style printed flowers with silver centres. The aluminium is made in two halves with each half shaped using a doming block. Each half hangs together loosely to allow movement. The aluminium is joined with a sterling silver dome and ear wire giving a lovely contrast between colours. The ear wire is design in a hoop shape that easily connects to itself so as not to lose them whilst wearing.
They measure 65 mm in length (dropping from the ear) and 25 mm in width, are lightweight, stylish and easy to wear and come in a grey Kraft gift box with a velvet insert.
All Ruby and Jack design jewellery and sculpture is made by hand in our workshop in Wiltshire.
Some information about anodised aluminium
Anosiding uses acid to create a corrosive and wear resistant layer on top of the metal. The anodic layer is left unsealed allowing the material to be dyed. The dyeing and patterning are my favourite part of the process as there are endless possibilities for colour, pattern, print and texture. This makes anodised aluminum a hard wearing and lightweight material for jewellery making and sculpture.
