Description
These are stained glass suncatchers handmade by me using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
They are designed as garden decorations not as indoor window suncatchers.
I have constructed them with extra strengthening and wider foil to make them more weather resistant and they have a strong wire hook on the back so you can hang from a nail or hook into a fence or wall.
See photo below which is taken from the back.
I have a bright red and rainbow butterfly or a red and green dragonfly with iridescent clear wings or a yellow and black bee with iridescent clear wings.
I made a prototype of each for my own garden and they are attached to the trellis above my new sweet pea trough which Bob my husband made for me. Excellent collaboration.
You can see these in the collage photo in the set of pictures above.
Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped then carefully wrapped in copper foil before all the pieces are soldered together to form a single suncatcher. I then solder strengthening wire and a wire hook to the back for hanging.
I don’t supply these with chain or suction hooks as they are not designed to hang free from a chain. They are heavier than my usual window suncatchers and need to be hung directly from a permanently sited hook. They can though be hung indoors directly from a strong hook.
Like all my suncatchers, handmade with love and designed to catch the light.
