A hand painted encaustic art picture, featuring a mountain and valley with stream, dragonflies and foxgloves. The picture has been mounted in a green A3 picture mount to fit a standard A3 size frame. This is an original, unique piece of art, it is not a print.

The picture has been sealed with a thin coating of varnish but it is advised that it should be framed under glass to prevent damage to the painted surface.

The large photograph shows the picture with its mount whilst the other photos give closer shots to see the detail.

The picture has not been framed as there are so many frame options available. I like my customers to be able to choose one for themselves, that will suit the situation in which it will be hung.

NOTE: the easel is for display purposes only and is not included with the picture

Encaustic art, is an ancient craft. which consists of applying wax to various base materials using a hot iron.  Originally this would have literally been done with a hot piece of metal to melt the wax. These days we use an electric iron which looks like a smaller version of one which would be used to iron clothes!

This particular picture has been created on a sealed card so that the wax sits on the surface to allow it to be be manipulated during the painting process.

Size is approximately: 16.5″ (42cm) high x 11.5″ (29.3cm) wide

Whilst I have done my best to photograph the painting to show the correct colours, there may be some difference slight in reality to what is viewed on a monitor.
