Description
An eco print cashmere wrap. A large cashmere wrap with embroidery detail at both ends, hand printed with eucalyptus leaves collected from my village in rural County Durham. A simple stole has been transformed by eco print into an upcycled piece of wearable art that is completely unique and would make a perfect handmade present.
Length 164cm (not including fringe)
Width 68cm
Ecoprinting is slow and gentle process that does not use harmful chemical or man-made dyes. It is environmentally friendly, eco friendly and entirely natural. Once the fabric has been prepared the plant material is placed on it and it is folded or rolled and tightly bound before placed in boiling water or steamed. The final result is a mystery until it is unbound and no two items will ever be even remotely similar.
I upcycle second hand items of clothing wherever possible to reduce waste and landfill. Second hand is the most environmentally friendly way to purchase your clothes. Eco printing second hand clothes ensures that nobody else will be wearing the same clothes as you as well as helping to reduce our carbon footprint. It’s a win win!
All items have been mordanted to ensure that they are light and wash fast and have been washed and pressed after dyeing and printing. Hand wash or machine wash on wool cycle at 30C max using a gentle non-bio detergent.
