A lovely present for someone who lives by the sea or wishes they did! Maybe even for someone who lives on a boat?

All driftwood, seapottery and seaglass is thoroughly washed, with all sharp edges removed by sanding carefully. Mostly I leave the pieces exactly as I find them, not re-shaping them at all.

I use antique lace on many of my pieces of art, having inherited some from my grandmother.

Every piece of sea pottery has started life as part of a larger piece – a plate, a bowl, a jug – and it is fascinating to think of its history. Tumbled around in the sea, the pieces are rounded off and textured, with often just a tiny bit of the original colour showing. Sometimes (as in this piece) lettering is seen although it is usually difficult to work out what the original labelling would have been.

The piece can be hung as it has a D-ring on the reverse.

Purchases are posted by Royal Mail 1st Class, packed with lots of bubblewrap to keep it safe from harm.
