Description
A new design in 2014 following a visit to the Jurassic coast and an afternoon spent searching for fossils on the stony beach. My wonderfully bright and cheerful interpretation in glass of an ammonite.
I’ve placed a little faceted crystal in the centre and a bigger faceted teardrop crystal at the end of the swirl.
The ammonite shape is formed from 12 pieces of glass, all different colours, lots of streaks and textures.
I’ve added a frame of twisted wire to give a more shell-like finish to the edge.
The colours are vibrant, the crystals glitter. I am really very pleased with this design. The streaks in the glass give it an almost 3 dimensional effect.
.The suncatcher is 13cm x 12cm and it hangs from a sillver chain which is firmly attached via soldered wire rings to the top.
Like all my suncatchers, handmade with love and designed to hang in the window and catch the sunshine and cast its colours .
Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped and copper foiled and then soldered together. I then solder on a little wire ring for hanging.
I always supply a strong suction hook so it comes ready for you to hang. I attach the chain using split rings so you can replace it, maybe with a ribbon, quite easily.
Please note that no two of my suncatchers are ever the same even to the same design. I deliberately don’t keep a record of the types of glass used so it is pretty impossible for me to make an exact match and that is my intention. I like all my pieces to be unique and I always use different combinations of glass.
Note also that the individual photos show the suncatcher for sale but those in the pictures of both colours may show one or other already sold.
Posted out Royal Mail first class with lots of padding to keep it safe on its journey to you.
