I often sell my effortless headwraps at craft fairs, so when talking to customers it’s easy to help them select their favourite print from my current selection and I always do a demonstration of course of how to style a handmade headwrap. However, as you will probably be buying your headwrap online I thought I would write a blog post with a few tips to help you with styling your wrap, once you receive it from me in the post.
The first thing to mention is that included in your parcel is the styling guide (pictured) along with detailed wear and care guidelines, the styling guide will help you style your headwrap when you first try it on at home.
First decide how you want to wear your wrap, people with short hair tend to prefer to wear their wrap over their hair, bandana style, whilst those with longer hair often prefer to pull their hair through the wrap. Then there are just four easy steps to perfect the styling of your wrap – tension, twist, turn, and tuck.
Here’s the four steps
Step 1 – Tension – taking your wrap out of its packaging extend the internal wire so that the headwrap lies flat, then locating the brand label lay the wrap across the back of your neck with the brand label inside, and use the wire to softly create the U shape seen in the first picture.
Step 2 – Twist – Lift the two points of the wrap upwards, equalising them, and twist the two tails until the wrap tightens securely around your head.
Step 3 – Turn the tails again.
Step 4 – Finally tuck the tails under the headwrap as you can see in the last image, then not forgetting to pop the lippy on too, you’re already for the next Zooom call too!

And of course, once you have mastered the basics you can experiment and develop your own styling, not forgetting that headwraps also make great neck bandanas as well as wrapping easily around your handbag handles so you can pop it on when needed!
