I’ve been working on a handwoven collection that is perfect to style up your home while we wait for Summer to arrive. With Mother’s Day and Easter on the horizon I’ve been working with an upbeat colour palette of apple green, brass, charcoal, sky blue, slate and white. I’ve created two complementary warps in soft organic cotton. One piece is heavily patterned in a tapestry effect butterfly motif using a rosepath threading. The second is a complex block twill geometric design. The two pieces of cloth play off each other perfectly and I’m delighted with the yang and yang effect I’ve created.
I’ve some beautiful cushions this Spring both regular sofa size ones, small boudoir and a slightly bigger lumber pillow rectangular type. These would be lovely in a conservatory, sunroom or morning room. On the square cushions I have used a deep denim blue linen and a contrasting zip closure beneath a hidden flap. I think this makes them rather quirky and if you are looking for a statement cushion these bespoke pieces are very attractive.
In the same series there are my signature decorative trug baskets in three sizes. The smaller ones are lined with pale blue linen which makes them such a romantic proposition for Easter displays. Deliciously curvy they are following all the recent trends too!
Gifts are not forgotten and I’ve added some rather masculine vintage leather button closures to some iPad covers. Rather a chic touch I thought when looking for a handmade present for the men in your life.
I always enjoy a little fun in my home styling and hope you do too. Take a look at my 3D apple and pear duos. Filled with natural British carded wool they really add a certain something to a basket display or on your mantlepiece. They are a very suitable gift for makers too as they double very happily as pincushions!
Hope you can find something to delight you and add something extra special to your Easter interiors.
