Copper Handmade Recycled MetalGardenPlanter

I am a pretty fabulous Fiona, I don’t feel it in the slightest as sometimes do see the green ogre from Shrek putting in an appearance especially since I coloured my once grey hair to a bright purple / red haze. After reading some feedback and glowing another shade of red whilst blushing I wanted to give a shout out to another Fiona, a fabulous customer, and proud owner of 3 solid copper recycled, repurposed, handmade planters ….

“Testament to how delighted I am with this oh so beautiful copper planters is the fact that this is the third I’ve bought. I couldn’t be happier with the quality materials, workmanship and appearance of the planter and the service provided by this top quality seller. I’ve no hesitation in recommending. “

“I can honestly say that this item exceeded all expectations. The copper planter is simply designed and very well made, which allows the exceptionally beautiful copper to sing. Lovely heavy gauge metal makes for a strong and sturdy planter with a pleasing weight to it. I was so delighted with it on arrival that day that I promptly ordered another the same day…I adore them to the degree I am contemplating another. At the moment the planters have their deep copper glow and high shine which is truly beautiful. I’m looking forward to watching its gorgeous patina develop over time. Communication with the seller was exceptionally good, and the item came with full and clear instructions on how to care for the planter. It arrived in perfect condition in recycled packaging. All in all I’m a very happy customer indeed.

Thank you Fiona, from the bottom of my swamp, your kind words really mean the world to me, and for anyone out there reading this, if you have something nice to say please just spare a few minutes to share it, trust me, it means so much.

Ocean Blue Metal Herb Planter

A lovely message popped in via WhatsApp, from a lady called Clare from Wales providing me with her name and address telling me she had won the Advent Competition, so I immediately gave her the option of planter in the competition or if she would prefer an alternative to perhaps match a colour scheme. Do I have a blue one?, she asked, instead of feeling happy this single comment made me sad, as it confirmed what I was seeing, that not one person had visited my shop, as per the stats on the dashboard, not even the winner of the competition.

Anyway, today, I made a planter  just for her in Ocean Blue. I really do hope she likes it now it has arrived.

On a positive note, the herbs on my kitchen window sill are positively blooming. There is nothing like picking fresh herbs, the Mint is thriving, the parsley lovely and full, sadly the Basil is dying off slowly but gives off such an amazing aroma in the kitchen I am so pleased I picked it up.

I am still in love with my fence display of planters, the twinkling lights bounce the light off the plain metal ones, and the colours one just look so pretty with the lights, am pleased my brackets have worked as well.

Things to smile about ….

I made this copper planter, from scrap copper, the customer was so happy she sent me this image, left me some amazing feedback and tagged me all over social media.

Little things like a simple thank you can make any maker smile, so this short sweet post is to say thank you to my customer for making my day, and as a little reminder that the simple things, like a little positive feedback or a thankyou can make someone’s day.

Summer is coming ….maybe

Unprecedented times, furlough, words about 8 weeks ago we had never considered to be part of our everyday life, supermarket queues, the world taking up baking leading to an unnormally high demand for flour of all varieties.

It has amazed me the number of people who have decided to take up gardening, me included! I currently have various ? salad leaves, radish, basil, peppers, mustard, plus some forget-me-nots and pansies popping up … it is also great for home schooling (I am not good at being a teacher, I get too ratty far too quickly, but I think that is because my little darlings know how to annoy me in the hopes I give up and they can drift back to the various game machines they have) but at least one them has been very involved in preparing, planting, and watering so I will take that as a small win 🙂

Today, Easter Monday I received a message via the other side beginning with E and ending in Y … from a lovely customer who, 2 years ago ordered some bespoke planters, they took some time to make, I never heard back so wasn’t sure she was happy or not, however I wasn’t fazed as in my experience most people forget to leave good feedback, rarely do they forget to leave feedback for a negative experience, many tell the world so I assumed all was good.

Fast forward 2 years, to a chilled Easter Monday, and this lovely lady, Sarah, messaged me simply to say, she tried to leave feedback but couldn’t see how to do it, the remainder of her message is below (I did ask permission to post)

“They look really fantastic, we look like we have a wildly expensive landscaped garden at a fraction of the cost!” “2 years in and these still look new. Thank you so much we are really pleased”

So there you have it, Sarah G 2 years on and still her planters look like new.

Winter is slowing creeping away as Spring gathers pace

Metal street planter Budapest I have to confess the weather of  late has been confusing, from a cloud burst of snow one afternoon, clear blue skies followed less than 24 hours later, chasing its tail the howling gales and flash floods across the country, it’s cold enough to be winter, but the bright blue skies suggest a different story.

In many towns and villages around the UK you will often see this beautiful ironwork frames sitting underneath a stunning set off windows, usually the sash wooden framed ones, not your modern uPVC triple glazed designed to lock the world out. This image was taken last year, on a damp grey drizzling kind of day, the triple story house in question is undergoing a mammoth refurbishment, formerly a butchers with the thick wooden floor and huge shop windows on one side of the property, and the other corner the image you see attached, the “private” entrance to the living quarters, notice the railings at street level to the cellar, or coal store as it may well of been.  Anyway the reason for my picture…..  whilst this one was made from wood, I can very easily make one out of metal, to sit inside these ironwork frames? I can also make the metal boxes to sit either sit of the entrance door, to plant a clematis or ivy from.

‘Tis the Season to be Jolly, I have always loved Carols around a tree, the pretty lights, the anticipation of piles of gifts on Christmas morning,  the buzz of excitement in the air but I will confess as I have got older the magic is fading for me. I see adverts on the television of happy families sat playing games and enjoying themselves but in reality as I read the papers I see a different world one where many families are separated and the older generations are possibly spending the day alone as they don’t want to be burden on relatives, or those families who don’t have money to put food on a table let alone buy gifts, who then have to deal with the question why Santa leaves lots of gifts for some Children but not them.

Welcome!

Me! I just thought whilst I was photographing, listing, measuring and generally sorting what planters and window boxes I have made it would be a nice idea to introduce myself properly. This is my world of Metal Garden Planters.
